My name is Layla Caranfa and I am currently a 16 year old junior at Medford High. I was born in Cambridge and lived in Somerville for the first few years of my life, but then before I started elementary school, I moved to Medford. I have two sisters, Mackenzie and Sabrina. Mackenzie is 5 years old and she lives with me and my mom but my other sister Sabrina is 7 years old and she lives with my dad and my step mom. I’ve been a dancer for 14 years now and I have definitely grown so much since I started at just two years old. I began taking classes at a small, non-competitive studio in Malden but then I switched to a more advanced studio in Medford called The Dance Haven. Now I compete twice a year and I love it. Outside of school and dance, I love spending time with my family and friends.
